A skills assessment through ATTC, FSI, VETASSESS or TRA usually takes 4 to 12 weeks, depending on how complete your Stage 1 documentation is and whether you need to go through a technical interview or practical assessment. With proper preparation, this timeline can be significantly reduced.

Employer reference letters need your exact job title, dates, weekly hours and a detailed description of your day-to-day tasks that matches your occupation’s ANZSCO description. Generic letters or plain HR letterhead are usually rejected.

Skill assessments generally require Competent English (IELTS 6 in each band, or PTE 50 equivalent) as a minimum, but higher points require Proficient or Superior English. We suggest your exact target score based on your occupation.
